Oxford awarded £1.25m for social sciences research

The official funding will drive social sciences research into social, economic and behavioural impact

The University of Oxford has been awarded £1.25 million of funding for activities that translate our social sciences research into social, economic and behavioural impact. 

The funding (the maximum grant available from the Impact Acceleration Account) has been given by the Economic and Social Research Council, part of UKRI – the public body sponsored by the Department of Science, Innovation and Technology.  

Professor Heather Viles, Associate Head of Social Sciences Division (Research), said, 'I am delighted that the ESRC IAA bid has been successful, and I look forward to the planned activities which will enhance the impact of Oxford’s social sciences research from local to global scales.'
